Warranty Information

SUUNTO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED WARRANTY

Suunto warrants that during the Warranty Period Suunto or a Suunto Authorized Service Center (hereinafter Service Center) will, at its sole discretion, remedy defects in materials or workmanship free of charge either by a) repairing, or b) replacing, or c) refunding, subject to the terms and conditions of this International Limited Warranty. This International Limited Warranty is valid and enforceable regardless of the country of purchase. The International Limited Warranty does not affect your legal rights, granted under mandatory national law applicable to the sale of consumer goods.

Warranty Period

The International Limited Warranty Period starts at the date of original retail purchase.
The Warranty Period is two (2) years for Products and Dive transmitters unless otherwise specified.
The Warranty Period is one (1) year for accessories including but not limited to wireless sensors, chargers, cables, rechargeable batteries, straps, bracelets and hoses.
For all Suunto Spartan watches purchased in 2016 the Warranty Period has been extended to three (3) years.

Exclusions and Limitations

This International Limited Warranty does not cover:

  1. a) normal wear and tear such as scratches, abrasions, or alteration of the color and/or material of non-metallic straps, b) defects caused by rough handling, or c) defects or damage resulting from use contrary to intended or recommended use, improper care, negligence, and accidents such as dropping or crushing;
  2. printed materials and packaging;
  3. defects or alleged defects caused by use with any product, accessory, software and/or service not manufactured or supplied by Suunto;
  4. non-rechargeable batteries.

Suunto does not warrant that the operation of the Product or accessory will be uninterrupted or error free, or that the Product or accessory will work with any hardware or software provided by a third party.

This International Limited Warranty is not enforceable if the Product or accessory:

  1. has been opened beyond intended use;
  2. has been repaired using unauthorized spare parts; modified or repaired by unauthorized Service Center;
  3. serial number has been removed, altered or made illegible in any way, as determined at the sole discretion of Suunto; or
  4. has been exposed to chemicals including but not limited to sunscreen and mosquito repellents.

You must provide proof of purchase to access Suunto warranty service. You must also register your product online at www.suunto.com/mysuunto to receive international warranty services globally. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable mandatory laws, this International Limited Warranty is your sole and exclusive remedy and is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied. Suunto shall not be liable for special, incidental, punitive or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of anticipated benefits, loss of data, loss of use, cost of capital, cost of any substitute equipment or facilities, claims of third parties, damage to property resulting from the purchase or use of the item or arising from breach of the warranty, breach of contract, negligence, strict tort, or any legal or equitable theory, even if Suunto knew of the likelihood of such damages. Suunto shall not be liable for delay in rendering warranty service.

Unauthorized Dealer Warning

If you obtain Aqua Lung products from an unauthorized dealer, your warranty will not be valid, and we cannot offer you the assurances of quality and satisfaction afforded by the Aqua Lung Warranty Program. Free Parts For Life Program

Free Parts for Life Program (Regulator Service Agreement)

The Free Parts for Life Program allows the customer to receive free parts when the regulator is due for overhaul. Free parts consist of the normal replacement items as found in the Regulator 1st & 2nd Stage Service Kits. Labor charges are not covered. Assuming the program guidelines are followed, the Free Parts for Life Program will apply to the life of the regulator and will significantly reduce the cost of ownership. This program is in addition to the standard product warranties outlined in the owner’s manual.

The Free Parts for Life Program is a commitment by you (the Regulator owner), your Aqua Lung Dealer and Aqua Lung. To participate, you must be the original owner and have purchased the regulator from an Authorized Aqua Lung or Apeks America Dealer. The regulator must be brought to an Authorized Dealer at least once a year for inspection or overhaul according to the below schedule:

  • Year #1: Inspection
  • Year #2: Overhaul
  • Year #3: Inspection
  • Year #4: Overhaul
  • Etc.

To keep the Free Parts for Life Program active, both inspections and overhauls need to be documented in the Annual Service & Inspection Records included in the Owner’s Manual CD or can be found online here. If an inspection or overhaul is missed, the regulator no longer qualifies for the Free Parts for Life program.

30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

Buy with confidence! If your Aqua Lung product falls short of your expectations, simply return to your Authorized Aqua Lung retailer within 30-days of purchase along with the original receipt and exchange it for another Aqua Lung/Apeks product.

Limited Warranty

Aqua Lung America warrants to the original purchaser for a period of time, specified below for each product, from the date of purchase that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, provided that it receives normal use, proper care and prescribed dealer service subject to the limitations listed below. The limited warranty is extended only to the original purchaser for purchases made from an Authorized Aqua Lung America Dealer and is not transferable. This warranty is limited to repair or replacement only at the discretion of Aqua Lung America. Warranty coverage does not extend to damages caused by improper use, improper maintenance, neglect, unauthorized repairs, modifications, accidents, fire, casualty or normal wear and aging. Cosmetic damage(s), such as scratches, nicks and fraying are not covered under warranty except when the product is new, out of the original packaging. This warranty does not extend to equipment used for commercial or military purposes.

Regulators:

Limited Lifetime Warranty
This warranty will cover the original owner of the regulator against defects in parts or workmanship for the lifetime of the regulator if the regulator is:

  1. Purchased from an Authorized Aqua Lung America Dealer
  2. Inspected or serviced annually by an Authorized Aqua Lung America Dealer as outlined in the “Free Parts for Life” Program.

Buoyancy Compensator Replacement on a Pro-Rated Basis

Buoyancy Compensator under the Limited Lifetime Warranty that malfunction due to material or manufacturer defects that have also had a significant amount of use will be replaced on a pro-rated basis. Prorating will be determined by a percentage factor based on the condition of the product and how long the product was used prior to the warranty claim. This can be useful to evaluate Limited Lifetime Warranty claims since the warranty period is for the “useful life of the product” and not a set length of time. The following guidelines should be used in determining what pro-rated percentage will be used.

  • 1 Year Limited Warranty on accessories, consumable parts, included but not limited to cables, hoses and straps.

Exclusions and Limitations:

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage due to misuse or use outside of recommended use or defects caused by use with non Aqua Lung supplied or endorsed software and batteries. See the owner’s manual for additional information.

When you purchase Aqua Lung life support products from an Authorized Aqua Lung Dealer, you are buying from trained professionals who can instruct you on the proper and safe use of your equipment.

WARNING:
It is dangerous for untrained or non-certified persons to use the equipment covered by these warranties. Therefore, use of these products by an untrained person renders any and all warranties null and void. Use of Scuba equipment by anyone who is not a certified diver, or receiving training through a recognized certification agency, shall render void all warranties, expressed or implied.
